Building Maintenance Worker

The Public Works Department is accepting applications for a full-time Building Maintenance Worker. This is a skilled position that will perform various duties including:
• General carpentry work in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding, forms, wood fixturess and furniture.

• Performs building maintenance work and informs supervisor of work requiring outside specialist or contractors.
• Preventative maintenance and minor repairs on HVAC systems including boilers, air handler units, VAV boxes and ductwork; plumbing systems including but not limited to fixtures, toilets, sinks drains, sump/ejector pumps; electrical systems including but not limited to bulbs, fuses, breaker, outlets, switches.
• Snow/ice removal and salting work.

• Assures the maintenance of safe work areas and equipment, promptly corrects work hazards, as necessary.
• Custodial work as required.
Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Class “B” CDL Illinois Driver’s license. Cable Television Operator

The Village is seeking applicants for a part-time Cable Television Operator. This position supports our Administrative Department in performing technical duties and assisting and coordinating functions pertaining to the Village cable television production center and channel. This position will be asked to work evenings and be flexible with their scheduling. Approximately 3-4 hours per week, on average, will be asked of this position. Required: Video/Audio Engineering training and 1+year of related experience. Starting salary is $18.88/hr. Please review the job description for more details.

Property Evidence Specialist

The Police Department is accepting applications for a full-time Property & Evidence Specialist. Duties include: receiving, analyzing, storing, releasing, and maintaining security of a wide variety of confiscated property and evidence. A major responsibility of the position is to safeguard and maintain the integrity of all evidence and the chain of custody in accordance with state laws, ordinances, and departmental policies and procedures. Additional duties include, but are not limited to: reporting, cataloging, storing, retrieving, transferring and disposing of property and evidence. Accuracy, attention to detail and accountability are critical skills required and expected of this position.
This position involves regularly scheduled work hours, and some after hours for crime scene processing, emergencies, a disaster, or work-in-progress. Minimum education of an associate’s degree in criminology, criminal justice, forensic science or closely related field AND 2 years work experience involving the public, one of which must have direct involvement in crime scene investigations, property management or law enforcement. Valid Illinois driver’s license required. Must be able to pass a post-offer physical and background check. Starting salary is $27.64 per hour depending on experience.
