GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are the computer applications that allow an organization to relate all of its data to points, lines, or areas upon the earth.  Examples of GIS data include parcels, street centerlines, surface water, elevations (contours), and aerial imagery.  For more information about GIS, check out the ESRI web site and Wikipedia.

The Village has created an interactive mapping application for residents. There are also PDF versions of some of our maps available online.
