The Village Clerk's Office is user-friendly and provides a variety of information to the public. The Clerk's Office is located at 24401 W. Lockport Street.  You may contact the office by phone (815) 439-2921 or by fax (815) 436-1950.

Board Meetings

The Village Board meets every Monday evening at the Village Hall at 7:00 p.m., except for the fifth Monday of any given month. Workshop meetings (designed for informal discussion) are held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays and regular Board Meetings (formal consideration of, and voting on agenda items) are held on the 1st and 3rd Mondays.  All citizens are encouraged to participate in these meetings and will be given an opportunity for comments at the beginning of each meeting.  Opportunities are provided for informal visits with the Mayor at Coffee with the Mayor held on the first Wednesday of each month from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Village Hall.  Board Meeting Schedule

Board Agendas

Agendas are posted at the Village Hall and on the web, 48 hours prior to each meeting.  Agenda topics are also posted on the Cable TV Community Board.  Current Board Agenda

Handicapped Parking Placards

Applications for permanent and temporary cards are available in the Clerk's Office.  They require a doctor's certificate and must be submitted to the Secretary of State's office.

Licensing (Liquor, Solicitors, Garbage, & Tobacco Products)

Liquor - The Clerk's Office issues Liquor Licenses to retailers who sell, give away, or dispense any alcoholic liquor in the Village.  The President of the Village is the Local Liquor Commissioner and receives as compensation the sum of $1,500.00 annually.  Liquor Ordinance 2716

Solicitors - Any solicitor, charitable solicitor, or person engaged in gratuitous distribution to solicit or distribute at any residential premises or anywhere within the corporate limits of the Village must first obtain a Certificate of Registration from the Police Department.  There is a fee in the amount of $35.00 per person as a condition of the issuance of a certificate.

Garbage - Licenses for the business of scavenger or garbage collection are also secured through the Village Clerk's office.  The fee for a garbage license is $50.00 per year.  Garbage License Application

Tobacco Products - Licenses are required for the retail sale of cigarettes, cigars, or tobacco in any form.  Applications for such license shall be made to the Village Clerk and the annual fee is $100.00.  Tobacco License Application

Notary

The Clerk provides free notary services.  Bring proof of identification and the unsigned document to the Village Hall.  You must sign the document in front of the notary.

Voter Registration

Voter Registration is available at Village Hall, during regular business hours. To register to vote, you must be 18 years old and a resident of Illinois for 30 days.  Two forms of identification are required, one with a current address.  You may use a driver's license, utility bill, mail, or check.
